A manager at CVS on Popham Road in Scarsdale contacted police at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, when a security alarm went off in the front of the store.

The manager told investigators that he spotted an African American woman in her 60s wearing a black coat, jeans and a knitted hat, who threw a package of cold medication on the counter and left the store.

Police said that the manager then checked surveillance video and spotted the same woman with an older African-American man in the store. The second suspect had gray hair, and was wearing a gray jacket with a hoodie and dark jeans. In the video, he can be seen putting boxes of stomach antacid, laxative and allergy medicine down his pants. He then left the store without paying with the woman.

According to police, both suspects walked westbound on Popham Road after leaving the store, in the direction of the Scarsdale Metro-North station. Officers canvassed the area, stopping one person, but failed to track down the two shoplifting suspects. The manager later reported that the stolen items were worth more than $200. The incident is under police investigation.
